Freedom of Speech

Just for a minute feel the beauty of our freedom to express ourselves in public without fear of imprisonment, – those of us who have that freedom (I have friends and readers who do not, I know).

Directly or indirectly, officially and not, speaking up against those in power is dangerous for many, deadly for some.

So yay democracy. Yay for saying what we think without fear of losing our life or liberty.

This freedom was not a gift. Many people worked and fought and died for it. It was taken. It was claimed.

It must also be guarded, vigilantly.

I invite you, if you are called to, to pledge to protect this right, and to use your freedom to support others who don’t have it yet.

Thank you for hearing me!
