I’m ready for a tribe, are you?

I was watching the film ‘Happy‘ (which I recommend!) and there’s a bit about the San people of Southern Africa.

They were a small, very close-knit group of people who did literally everything together.

I don’t romanticise the tribal way of life at all – infant mortality, no antibiotics, no books…. no thanks!

But watching that small group of people, so very connected to each other, pulled at my heart.

This is the way we humans are meant to live, this is the way we HAVE lived, through most of our history.

In little, very close groups that shared all the things – good, bad, mundane and huge.

In the past, I have been part of closer tribes than I am now, now I’m part of looser ones, but they’re still there.

Sometimes a tribe can break your heart when you lose it, but……

I may be ready to be part of a close knit tribe again. I think we all may be ready.

Are you ready?

Here are some of my tribes……
